My name is Hal Rosen, and I have over 30 years working with and operating businesses like yours. I started with a "Big Eight" international accounting firm. I've also held a partnership position with a local CPA firm, as well as financial and executive positions with companies in numerous industries. My current specialties include small business accounting and taxation, and individual taxation.

I've spent half of my career as an entrepreneur myself, involved in day-to-day operations of small companies. I've run my own home-based business and personally experienced the challenges and rewards from operating at home. And I've co-founded more than twelve companies in various industries. Those activities have included manufacturing, coal mining, tool and mine supply distribution, real estate development and financing, employee benefits, and a travel agency.

These businesses have been local, regional, national and international in scope and market. They've ranged from one employee to more than 70 employees.

How can this work for you? I recently helped one company restructure three years of their QuickBooks data to properly reflect their operations. After completing the accounting we amended the three years of tax returns and they received approximately $75,000 in refunds to the two owners.

In another company a year earlier we did the same thing and the owner received about $45,000 in refunds. Both companies had their tax returns prepared by CPA's, but in both cases the CPA did not adequately understand QuickBooks and in both cases they also made glaring errors in the tax returns.
